GROUPS and organisations across Evesham and Pershore have the chance to apply for a grant of up to £500 to help improve their community.
The ‘Wychavon Active Parishes Grant’ offers funding between £100 and £500 to local voluntary groups, sports clubs, parish councils, schools and charitable organisations.
Groups can apply for grants for new projects that increase physical activity levels and make a lasting contribution to health and well-being, for example, a local walking group, village hall fitness sessions or after school sports club.
The aim of the scheme is to improve services and facilities for the local community and to encourage activity to improve quality of life.
Wychavon District Council will choose the successful candidates based on demand for the project, the benefits to residents, how innovative and well-planned the project is and the total cost.
Tracy Grubb, the council’s community development officer, said: “These small grants are a great opportunity for local groups and organisations to get creative and to make a difference to their communities. Whether you have a good idea or are looking for some funding to get a project off the ground, we encourage everyone to apply.”
