ASPIRING sporting stars at The De Montfort School have been aided in their quest for glory with backing from a local charity.
CASS and Friends was set up to help fund much needed coaching and equipment for athletes who are excelling in their chosen sports.
Young darts star Mitchell Leeming has qualified for the World Championships in Gibraltar this September and Callum Jennings, a fisherman, achieved a silver medal at last years’ World Championships.
Both have received support from CASS and Friends and headteacher Guy Nichols said: “Both boys have been working hard with their GCSEs but also continuing to train and dedicate time and effort to their sports in order to continue competing for the rest of the season.”
