VALE residents are being invited to put pedal to the metal and saddle up for the annual Bredon Hill Bikeaway.
The popular event returns on Sunday, October 18 and not only will cyclists have the pleasure of participating in a countryside ride through the beautiful autumnal Worcestershire landscape, they’ll also be raising money for two great causes.
The Pershore Division of St John Ambulance and the Vale of Evesham Community First Responders will benefit from the fund-raiser held at Pershore College and opened by Divisional President Henry Sandon MBE.
Something for everyone is on offer with three routes to ride; the bronze route which is an eight mile tour of the Worcestershire countryside, the silver route of 19 miles and the gold route, a challenging and exciting 49 mile journey of beautiful scenery.
Tony Haines, spokesperson for both organisations said “We are looking forward to another successful Bikeaway and greatly appreciate the efforts and donations put into this event, especially Pershore College who are once again hosting the event.
“We hope everyone joins in and has a fantastic day!”
Tickets cost £8 for adults and £5 for children while family tickets for two adults and two children are also available for £20.
Once registered, all riders are provided with a sponsor form, giving friends and family a chance to contribute to the charity fund-raiser.
All monies raised goes towards administering first aid and the provision of training programmes. Both organisations are funded only by duty fees and fund-raising – each member is a volunteer taking time out of their own life in order to help save the lives of others.
