AN EVESHAM jeweller is looking at a sparkling future after support from Wychavon.
Wedstones has received £1,000 from the Wychavon Growth Grant scheme, which supports businesses trading for more than 12 months to take the next step in their development.
The grant has been used to help buy a polishing machine, which allows more work to be carried out on-site, reducing the need for outsourcing and providing a more efficient service to the customer.
It is also hoped the equipment will allow the company to employ a trainee goldsmith in the near future.
The family-run business founded by Leon Rhodes specialises in bespoke wedding and engagement rings with an emphasis on personal service.
The business offers a choice of more than 400 different diamond rings made in a variety of precious metals.
Customers can also take advantage of its bespoke design service with no upfront fee or obligation to buy.
All pieces are manufactured in the UK, diamonds are ethically sourced and packaging is eco-friendly.
Leon, who has more than 10 years experience in the business, said: “We know jewellery is more than just a fashion accessory but is a very personal statement by the person who is wearing it.
“That’s why we take the time to make sure our customers have all the information they need to make the right decision for them. Our investment, supported by the growth grant from Wychavon, means we can now offer our customers an even more personal and tailored service.”
Councillor Richard Morris, executive board member for economic growth and tourism on Wychavon District Council, added: “Growing our economy is a priority for Wychavon and small businesses like Wedstones are the backbone of that growth.
“That’s why I am delighted we can offer support like this, which helps our small businesses to unlock their future potential and take advantage of new opportunities.”
