Free parking offer extended as Vale emerges from lockdown

FREE parking will continue in Wychavon’s car parks until the start of May to support traders.

Until May 3, there will be no charge for using any Wychavon District Council owned pay and display car parks.

Following this, from May 4 the council will be re-introducing its half an hour parking for 50p offer and introducing a new ‘buy one hour, get one free’ offer until September 5.

Normal charging will then re-start from September 6.

The move will support traders that have reopened, as well as provide more time for people to stay in and around the towns.

Parking restrictions, including waiting times in on-street parking bays and double yellow lines, still apply and will be enforced.

Vic Allison, chief executive at Wychavon District Council, said: “Providing free parking is just one way we are supporting residents and businesses to get back to what we love safely. We continue to encourage everyone to follow Government guidelines to stop the spread of coronavirus”.
