A ‘FOOTBALL-free haven’ is being offered by an Evesham pub as the countdown to the World Cup in Qatar enters its final fortnight.
The Red Lion has confirmed the Market Street pub won’t be bringing in a TV to screen any of the games but wished the Three Lions well in the tournament which kicks off a fortnight today (Sunday).
Hosts Qatar tackle Ecuador in the opening game of the tournament before England face Iran at 1pm on Monday, November 21.
In a post on social media, the popular pub said: “We don’t have a TV and won’t change that.
“So, The Red Lion will be a football-free haven for anyone who wants somewhere peaceful to escape to when the matches are on. And at any other time.
