FIREFIGHTERS from Evesham Fire Station dealt with two small fires in Badsey Lane, Evesham last Sunday (April 6) just days following warnings about the danger of outdoor blazes due to the lack of rain.
A crew was called at 4.23pm to the incident at Badsey Lane Nature Reserve where both fires were extinguished using shovels and soil.
No further hotspots were found and no other emergency services were required. The incident was dealt with by 6.44pm.
A recent lack of rain has caused the ground to dry out and led to some outdoor fires getting out of control. The public have been asked not to start them and ensure cigarettes are properly extinguished.
