EVESHAM and Pershore’s GP surgeries have been given a check-up as part of an annual NHS survey.
The scores on the doors emerged in the NHS’s annual GP Patient Survey which reveals how Evesham and Pershore’s surgeries were rated between January and April this year.
A total of 86 per cent of those asked said their overall experience at Pershore Medical Practice was good, though asked how easy it was to make an appointment this figure dropped to 59 per cent.
Good overall experiences were recorded by patients at Riverside Surgery and the Abbey Medical Practice in Evesham as well as Abbotswood Medical Centre.
Merstow Green Medical Practice and the DeMontfort Medical Centre ranked the lowest in terms of good overall experiences but recorded figures of 78 per cent and 68 per cent respectively.
In terms of making contact on the phone and making an appointment though the DeMontfort Medical Centre emerged with with 71 per cent.
Abbotswood Medical Centre in Pershore had the most respondents saying it was easy to make an appointment at the surgery at 78 per cent compared to 68 per cent at the Riverside Surgery, 67 per cent at Abbey Medical Practice and 66 per cent at Merstow Green Medical Practice.
However there was high praise for receptionists at all surgeries in both towns with all practices scoring highly with patients.
A staggering 96 per cent of respondents at both Abootswood Medical Centre and Pershore Medical Centre said receptionists at the surgeries were helpful.
This compares to 92 and 91 per cent of people at Merstow Green Medical Practice and DeMontfort Medical Centre and 87 per cent and 83 per cent of people at Abbey Medical Practice and the Riverside Surgery, according to the survey.
