HUNDREDS of pounds was raised when a Vale village hosted its annual Christmas Fayre.
There were plenty of festive reasons to cheer in Charlton on Saturday (November 22) when residents took part in the event which included a wide range of stalls selling mince pies, cards, wrapping paper, calendars, crafts and books.
More than £800 was raised on the day with funds going towards the village church and other parts of the community.
Helen Fowler, one of the organisers of the event, said: “To raise more than £800 is a fantastic result and one of the highest
we’ve raised at this event.
“I and fellow organisers would like to thank everyone who came along. It was a lovely day.”
