THE FAMILY of a 47-year-old man who died in a crash in Evesham have paid tribute to him.
Cyclist Jason Paul Perry, known as Jay, died after his bike was in collision with a Fiat 500 at Enterprise Way, Vale Park, around 5.08pm last Wednesday (March 12).
In an emotional tribute, his family said: “It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Jason Paul Perry.
“He was a beloved dad, brother, uncle, nephew and cousin, who will be deeply missed by all who knew him.”
The family have requested people respect their privacy as they grieve.
“We appreciate your understanding and support during this difficult time.”
Following the incident, West Midlands Ambulance Service sent two ambulances, a paramedic officer and the Midlands Air Ambulance from Strensham to the scene.
Medics administered life support to Jay but sadly, despite everyone’s best efforts, nothing could be done to save him and he died at the scene.
The car driver, a 24-year-old woman, did not need treatment and was arrested on suspicion of causing death by careless driving. She has since been released under investigation.
Det Sgt Liam Bennett from West Mercia Police’s Serious Collision Investigation Unit said officers’ thoughts were with the Jay’s family following the collision.
The force has carried out enquiries into the incident and appealed to witnesses or anyone with information, CCTV or dash cam footage to email investigating officer PC Paul Bosley at: [email protected] or call him on 01905 717530.
