Extra beds as wards are opened

Evesham Editorial 28th Feb, 2020   0

TWO new wards have been opened at the Worcestershire Royal Hospital, providing 33 extra beds.

The rooms have been introduced in the Aconbury Building as part of ongoing refurbishment works.

The wards will bring much needed additional capacity to Worcester Royal, ensuring patients can be cared for in the right place and at time.

Last Monday patients were welcomed to the ‘Aconbury 2’ and ‘Aconbury 3’ ward on Tuesday.

Despite the severe weather conditions staff were able to work together to ensure the wards were opened as planned.

Matron for the wards Vikki Aston said: “We are delighted to have these extra beds for the Worcester site.

The positive impact this will have for our patients is immeasurable.”

She thanked all the staff for going ‘above and beyond’ to ensure this project ran smoothly.
