EYE-catching videos and artwork were the stars of the show at a college exhibition showcasing the work of art, photography and game design students in Evesham.
The exhibition, titled Evesham Creative Block, has been running for more than a decade and was this year held in the hall at Evesham New College, which is part of college group WCG.
The space was transformed into an exhibition featuring an array of artwork, sketchbooks, digital game design, illustrations, multimedia presentations and more, with visitors impressed by Evesham College’s gifted cohort of 54 students studying on creative courses.
Courses displaying work included Level 2 Game Design, Level 1 and Level 2 Art, Level 2 Graphic Design and Level 1 and 2 Photography.
More than 50 members of the public visited the exhibition to see the work of the college’s talented artists.
Visitors to the event were amazed by the vast range of subject matter, compositions and inspirations, including one student whose work explored handmade typography created using household objects like strings, paperclips and buttons. Her work was voted by the students to be used in the event’s publicity poster.
The department’s project work modules have a commercial structure, to mirror working professionally within the arts and photography industries, with students learning how to work collaborating and proactively towards a strict deadline and present their finished project to a group of their peers.
Helen Scott, course manager of Esports, Games Design, Photography and Graphics at Evesham New College, said:
“It was wonderful to come together and celebrate the great work produced by our students this year across all the different creative pathways offered at Evesham New College.
“The variety of our exhibition demonstrates the diverse talents of our students and it was amazing to see their work showcased for their friends, families and loved ones to see.
“It has been a great year for the department and they should all be very proud of their work and what they have achieved this year.”
