A SHOWDOWN of parliamentary candidates for the Droitwich and Evesham constituency is on the horizon as the election race heats up.

Visitors will have a chance to quiz their prospective parliamentary candidates from across political parties during a 90 minute event.

The event has been rescheduled for 7pm on Thursday, June 27 at The Parish Church of All Saints, Evesham after initial difficulties aligning everyone’s calendars.

Candidates invited to the event include Reform UK’s Sam Bastow, the Social Democratic Party’s Andrew Flaxman, the Green Party’s Neil Franks, the Conservatives’ Nigel Huddleston, Labour’s Chipiliro Kalebe-Nyamongo and Oliver Walker of the Liberal Democrats.

As the event is voluntary, it is possible not all candidates will attend. A full list of those attending will be announced on Monday, June 10.

Chairing the evening will be Reverend Mark Hutchinson. Candidates will have no prior knowledge of the questions which must be submitted in advance.

Organisers are clarifying that leafleting and canvassing is not permitted on church grounds on the evening of the event.

To write in a question, email [email protected] or send a letter to Church House, Market Place, Evesham. The deadline for questions is 5pm on Tuesday, June 25.

On the evening, parking is available in the Merstow Green car park opposite the church. RingGo Parking App location – 20719.
