A KIND-HEARTED Evesham woman collected her award at the House of Lords for her dedication and hard work in rescuing unwanted and abused dogs.

Pip Singleton rubbed shoulders with influential politicians and celebrities at a glitzy event on Tuesday (October 20) as she received the International Fund for Animal Welfare’s (IFAW) Animal Action Award for Dog Rescue, hosted by TV presenter Bill Oddie.

For the last 27 years she has also been running the Evesham Greyhound and Lurcher Rescue charity, whilst also working at Worcestershire Regulatory Services dealing with about 2,500 dogs every year.

Speaking about her achievement, Pip said: “I’m very pleased to be given this award from IFAW, but it’s just something that I have to do. No matter how much I give to the dogs they are so special they give me twice as much back.”
