AN EVESHAM family have propelled workplace relationships to new heights after working at the same supermarket for nearly 30 years combined.

As aunt, Debbie Guoite, celebrates 19 years of employment at M&S in Evesham she has reflected on some of her favourites memories in work which include seeing her nieces, Katie and Amy Haines, progress in their careers.

She has loved working with her nieces and looks back fondly on the stores opening which she says marked one of the ‘best and busiest’ days of her career.

Debbie’s nieces were inspired to join M&S by their aunt’s work and the trio are proud their family bond has remained strong through working together over the years.

Debbie said: “My favourite memory of working at the store was when it was refurbished, which was such an exciting time.

“My role was to manage the team setting up the store. It was a huge challenge, but the day the new Evesham store opened was one of the best and busiest days of my career.

“Getting to work with my niece every day is truly special. I particularly love watching them grow in their careers and push themselves across different roles in the store.”

She has held roles all across the store from the shopfloor to the back office. Her favourite was as a team support manager.

The older of Debbie’s two nieces, Katie Haines, has worked at the shop for six years and has celebrated several milestones at the store, from passing her GCSEs at 16, to her 18th, 21st and 25th birthdays.

Katie, the store’s social lead, said: “I have absolutely loved working at M&S from the moment I started, and working alongside my aunt and sister has been a great experience – it’s made us much closer as a family.”

Debbie’s younger neice, Amy Haines, said: “I remember the very first day – after just a few weeks it felt like home.

“The team here has always felt like family but having my actual family by my side is a real bonus.”
