Evesham school raises hundreds for town's Community Hospital

AN EVESHAM school held a coffee morning and brewed up a total of nearly £600 to help develop a garden at Evesham Community Hospital.

Members of St Mary’s Catholic Primary School’s school council handed over a cheque for £590.40 to sister Terry Owen at the town’s hospital.

The money will go towards the Izod Ward and Palliative Care Unit at the hospital, in order to help develop the courtyard garden for patients and their families to enjoy.

Year six pupils were involved in organising and running the coffee morning, including serving teas, coffees and cakes, and selling a range of goods to visitors.

Pupils from Reception upwards also took part and enjoyed their own drink and biscuits alongside the school’s visitors.

Headteacher Jackie Smith said: “We would like to thank everyone for their support and help in reaching such an amazing total.”
