Evesham school holds poignant Remembrance assembly to pay tribute to fallen

AN EVESHAM school held a moving assembly this morning to remember and honour those who lost their lives in the two world wars and subsequent conflicts.

Pupils and staff at St Andrew’s CE School in Hampton fell silent to remember the fallen ahead of a weekend of commemorations in the Vale and across the country.

Year 4 students then read out poignant poems as pupils honoured the British soldiers who made the ultimate sacrifice in the two world wars and conflicts after 1945.

Representatives from the school will also be attending the Remembrance Parade and Armistice Day commemorations which are being held in Evesham on Sunday.

Chair of Governors, Michael Hunter, said: “I was very impressed that all the pupils were extremely respectful throughout the Act of Remembrance.”
