SNOW WARNING: Wintry weather set for Worcestershire?

Evesham Editorial 5th Feb, 2024   0

A YELLOW weather warning for snow has been issued for much of Worcestershire by the Met Office for Thursday (February 8).

Wintry conditions are forecast from 3am until 3am on Friday (February 9) according to forecasters.

Cold air is beginning to exert its influence in the far north of Scotland today (Monday).

This will sink southwards through the early part of this week before the risk of wintry weather arrives.

As mild air from the south attempts to move north it will clash with the colder air leading to snow.

However the initial snow risk looks highest in northern England and Wales with one to two cm possible at low levels.

How long will the wintry weather last?

While there is uncertainty about the forecast for Thursday, the trend further ahead is for the colder conditions.

Further scattered wintry showers will spread south, reaching most parts of the UK over the weekend.

However there will be plenty of sunshine between times – but this will lead to some frost by night.
