Miller Homes acquires land for 98 new homes for Badsey

A BID for 98 homes in a village near Evesham has moved a step closer after a land purchase in Badsey.

Miller Homes has acquired an 8.67-acre site off Bretforton Road, for a range of homes from one to four bedrooms.

The land has already been earmarked for the development of residential housing by Wychavon District Council.

Outline planning permission has been agreed but Miller Homes will soon submit a detailed planning application for the site.

Among the homes planned, 39 will be affordable housing, of which 10 will be sold through the First Homes scheme.

The Government scheme supports first-time homeowners to step onto the property ladder.

Miller Homes will pay around £800,000 to support local infrastructure and services in and around the village.

Darren Humphreys, managing director of Miller Homes West Midlands, said:

“We are really pleased to have secured the right to deliver sustainable new housing in Badsey following this land purchase.

“The site benefits from outline planning consent which we plan to bring through to market as soon as we can.

“Badsey Gardens will be a well thought out scheme of high-quality new housing which will complement its existing surroundings and create new, energy efficient homes for residents in the area.

“We will now move forward to submit our detailed planning application for the development, with a view to starting on site in the spring and complete our first homes on the site by the end of the calendar year.”

All of the homes will feature electric vehicle charging points, as part of its wider sustainability plan for the site.

The housebuilder plans to release its first homes for sale at Badsey Gardens in autumn 2024. This is subject to planning approval and construction work starting at the development.
