Man fined after burglary at Evesham's Riverside GP surgery

A BURGLAR who struck at the Riverside GP surgery in Evesham has been convicted, fined and ordered to complete a drug rehabilitation programme.

Russell Purfield, 42, of no fixed abode, pled guilty at Kidderminster Magistrates Court on Friday (January 12). He was arrested the day before.

Officers from Evesham Safer Neighbourhood Team arrested him following the burglary that occurred on December 28. They were supported by officers from B shift response.

Purfield was arrested for burglary from an address in Hampton and taken to custody. He was later interviewed and charged with this offence and remanded in custody.

He pled guilty and was ordered to attend a drug rehabilitation programme. In addition he was told to pay costs of £185, a victim surcharge of £114 and a fine of £100.

Further stolen property was located at the address where he was arrested and investigations are ongoing in connection to this.
