A COUNTY organisation to support women with their physical and mental well-being will develop further thanks to another National Lottery grant.
The Madam Butterfly project works with groups of women for whom the statutory 12-week period of NHS mental health support is insufficient.
The potential beneficiaries are often isolated and vulnerable, many of whom have experienced significant trauma.

Although not a crisis intervention it nevertheless provides much needed support for women who are struggling to cope. The project aims to find those on the verge of falling between the cracks, and quickly becoming forgotten.
It offers mind-body interventions such as trauma informed yoga and mindfulness, psychotherapy and education in both group and one-to-one settings.
Embodied Communities will offer them to women to enable them develop an awareness of their own bodies and minds. At the same time it will empower them with education and tools they can use in everyday life.
Kelly-Louise, the founder of Embodied Communities, said:
“Our symbol, the butterfly, is often used by women who are survivors of domestic abuse to symbolise their journey towards freedom and transformation.”
Kelly-Louise is herself a survivor of domestic abuse and now works extensively with other survivors.
Madam Butterfly is also another success for Community Boost, the organisation which helps community groups access grant funding. Community Boost has now generated more than £1.9 million in grants.
