AN EVESHAM fund-raising family handed over a record cheque for 2023 to a very important local charity.

Mandy Edwards of Celandine Way, Evesham has raised money for more than 18 years for Birmingham Children’s Hospital.

More recently she has raised cash for Cotswold R.D.A. (Riding for the Disabled) through crafting and house plant sales.

Mandy said:

“Birmingham Children’s Hospital has always been dear to our hearts as they cared for our daughter, Bethan, from birth to 18 years old with multiple open heart surgeries.

“Bethan suffers from a serious heart condition called Hypolastic Left Heart Syndrome. However, in recent years we have decided to raise funds for the R.D.A as well, as Bethan spends a lot of her time there either riding or doing work experience”.

“Most of the money came from our annual Charity Craft Fair held at Leedons Park, Childswickham in November.

“However my husband Bryan has completed his first full year fund-raising with plants. He utilises the powers of social media to collect donated garden and house plants and sell them to the people of The Vale”.

The Edwards family were proud to donate an overall fundraising cheque for £1,500 to R.D.A. representatives, beating last year’s donation by £300.

The fund-raising team at Birmingham Children’s Hospital has also received the same amount.
