Evesham man has been jailed for roadside 'acid' attack

AN EVESHAM man has been jailed for a roadside “acid” attack when he squirted a bottle of cleaning solution at two others in Birmingham.

Max Kelly was a passenger in a car on July 18 when he leapt from a car in Main Street before firing liquid from a bottle at a group of people outside The Chalice.

The 23-year-old, now of Evesham, got out of the car and shouted “I’ve got acid”, before spraying the liquid at the men.

He was sentenced to a total of six months in jail.

One man was hit in the face by the liquid, which police believe was ammonia-based, but he escaped unhurt after splashing water over himself.

The car’s driver, Benjamin Prentice, of Hexton Close, Solihull, was fined £140 at an earlier hearing after admitting a public order offence in connection with the incident.
