AN EVENING of horror-ific hits and ghostly goings-on is set to entertain audiences when the latest production from Evesham Operatic and Dramatic Society rolls into town.
The amateur group which has been entertaining the Vale since 1881 invites families to join them this Halloween for the spooktacular show Carnival Macabre which promises to be filled with thrills and chills for young and old.
Featuring creepy classics like Thriller, Bring Me To Life, Monster Mash and I Put A Spell On You, the show is directed and produced by Nathan Warren, Gemma Bailey and Jonny Roberts.
The show is a series of cabaret-style numbers, which is very different from previous shows. Gemma Bailey told the Standard that it’s a lot darker and spookier than anything they have done before.
She said: “The range of talent on display is fantastic. Some of our best singers and dancers are showcasing the array of talent Evesham has to offer, with much of the set and costume handcrafted by us.”
Audiences will also be entertained by set pieces choreographed by Claire Watson, Chloe French and Hayley Roberts.
Carnival Macabre runs from Thursday, October 31 to Saturday, November 2 at The Henrician Theatre in Victoria Avenue, Evesham at 7.30pm. Tickets cost £13 per person with a discount of £3 per person for group bookings of four or more tickets.
Although a family-friendly show, it is rated PG due to the Halloween-themed subject matter. The Saturday afternoon performance will be toned down for younger audience members and the matinee ticket includes entry to a children’s Halloween party.
