A GREYHOUND and lurcher rescue centre in Evesham is celebrating after receiving a share of a dog food donation worth over £20,000.
Burgess Pet Care – who provided the donations – asked its followers to nominate independent greyhound and lurcher rescue centres to receive a share of it’s largest food donation to date.
Evesham Greyhound & Lurcher Rescue was one of six lucky rescue centres across the UK to receive the highest number of nominations and has since had over 100 12.5kg bags of Burgess Greyhound & Lurcher dry dog food donated.
Pip Singleton, founder of Evesham Greyhound and Lurcher Rescue, said: “We would like to say a massive thank you to Burgess Pet Care who donated a huge amount of their wonderful food.
“We cannot thank them enough for helping to feed our dogs. Thank you to everyone that nominated us – this will make a huge difference to us as a rescue, allowing us to help even more needy dogs.”
The food has been donated for Burgess’ fifth Greyhound and Lurcher campaign which showcases what wonderful pets the dog breeds can be.
The campaign also highlights some of the fantastic work carried out by UK greyhound and lurcher rescue centres, including animals in need of homes and adoption success stories.
