AN EVESHAM craft club has provided its latest donation of teddies to support youngsters involved in incidents with West Mercia Police.
Officers from the Evesham Safer Neighbourhood Team collected a new batch of ‘trauma teddies’ from Littletons Craft Club.
PC Prentice, PC Lane and Senior PCSO Kempton met with Pat Miller who had knitted 15 of the new teddies.
A total of 43 new teddy bears will now be available for officers to give to children to comfort them across Worcestershire during incidents with the force.
The teddy bears will be carried inside police vehicles and available for officers to use when attending an incident that involves young people.
It is believed that handing out teddies could help soothe and support children during difficult times.
Within 10 minutes of collecting the new teddies, the Evesham officers were diverted to an incident where one of the bears was handed to a person in need.
The rest of the teddies will be used by officers not only from Evesham but also across the local policing area, including Malvern and Pershore.
