An Evesham couple have their first baby on their joint birthday

AN EVESHAM couple have defied odds of more than 48 million-to-one when their baby daughter was born on their shared birthday.

Proud parents Jodie Ballingall, 32 and her husband Mark, 33, described it as the ‘best birthday present ever’ when their baby daughter Libbie was born on Monday, August 1.

It means mum, dad and daughter now all share the same birthday.

The bouncing bundle of joy, the first child for Jodie and Mark, completed a unique celebration for the family when she was born at 9.25am at Worcestershire Royal Hospital.

Libbie was due to arrive on Thursday, July 23 but was born nine days late weighing 7lb 3oz and the family will now have a triple birthday party for years to come.

Bookmakers Paddy Power claimed the odds of a baby to share both its parents’ birthday were 48 million-to-one.

Incredibly, the trio aren’t the only three in the family who share the same birthday, as Mark’s uncle, who recently celebrated his 70th birthday, was also born on August 1.

Speaking to the Observer, Jodie said: “We first thought we would have to have her by the Saturday, and then she arrived on the Monday on our birthday.

“It was one heck of a present. It’s definitely the best birthday present ever.”
