A CONSTRUCTION company in Evesham has shared its pride in the latest graduate of its dedicated training school.
Jet Plant Hire is proud to announce the graduation of Tyler Rock who has completed an intensive nine-month Jet School programme to become a qualified road planer operator.
The graduate said: “It’s been a brilliant opportunity for me and the next steps in my career, learning from experienced colleagues to develop new skills. I’m looking forward to what the future holds for me.”
Tyler’s success marks another story in the company’s mission to inspire the next generation of skilled professionals as training and employment for youngsters becomes ever more important.
The latest Office for National Statistics figures show NEET rates (not in education, employment or training) remain high at 12.2 per cent (872,000) of 16 to 24-year-olds.
This is nearly a quarter of a million more young people (228,000) than three years ago when NEET rates were at their lowest (9.5 per cent).
Jet School’s programme is designed to equip trainees with essential industry competencies, providing hands-on experience under the guidance of professionals.
Participants gain expertise in operating road planers, setting machine levels, depth checking, kerb cutting, general machine competency, basic maintenance, and crucial aspects such as health & safety and sustainability. Trainees are continuously assessed throughout the programme, with those who pass all four appraisals earning a guaranteed permanent role within the company.
Sean Witheford, managing director of Jet Plant, said: “Investing in people is the foundation of future success.
“Companies must take the lead in providing training opportunities to address workforce shortages and we are proud to champion professional development.”
