AN EVESHAM-BASED author is set to launch her latest dark fantasy novel next week in a popular Worcester city centre book shop.
Kelly Williams will read extracts from her book, Daughter of the Drowned, followed by a Q&A at Script Haven, in High Street on April 9 at 7pm.
The dark, occult-filled fantasy novel, published by Hot Tree Publishing, is perfect for fans of Ninth House by Leigh Bardugo.
Blending eerie magic, an atmospheric underworld, and a romance that flirts with Death himself, Daughter of the Drowned offers readers a haunting escape, described by one early reader as a ‘visceral, compelling read that sticks with you’.

Author Kerry Williams from Evesham. s
Kerry, a copywriter by day and self-confessed JK Rowling fan, said: “I’m beyond excited to bring this book to local readers, especially in a venue as fitting as Script Haven, it’s such an awesome indie bookshop.
“This story is for anyone who loves dark fantasy based in the real world, a flawed female central character who has to go on a real journey of self-discovery, and gothic Constantine vibes!”
The book is one of a duet, so readers will have to wait until the release of the sequel – She of the Shadows – set for an August release, to reach the conclusion of this story of redemption and hope.
Attendees at next Wednesday’s launch will have the chance to purchase signed copies, chat with the author, and immerse themselves in the world of Daughter of the Drowned.
