Evesham and Pershore drivers warned after spate of vehicle thefts

Evesham Editorial 8th Oct, 2018   0

DRIVERS in Evesham and Pershore have been warned to review their security after a number of vehicle thefts.

A dark blue Land Rover Discovery with the partial registration number ‘BXE’ was stolen overnight between Sunday and Monday from a farm in Kersoe, Pershore.

Around 1am on Saturday an £11,000 John Deere 855 ATV Gator vehicle with the partial registration number ‘COA’ was taken from Hinton on the Green in Evesham. And a red quad bike which had part of the registration number ‘UTU’ was stolen after a break-in at a farm workshop on Stratford Road, Honeybourne, at 2.35am on Sunday.

Sgt Sarah Kent, from the Evesham and Pershore Safer Neighbourhood Teams, said: “Thefts like this are a warning to people to review their security and the lighting where they are kept.

“People should also consider putting trackers on their vehicles as they are the most effective way of getting them back if they are stolen.

“These days trackers are not that expensive and are easy to use.

“We managed to recover one vehicle which had been stolen within 20 minutes because it had a tracker on it.”

Witnesses or anyone with any information on the thefts should call police on 101 or Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111.
