Evening of railway nostalgia on offer at Pershore Library

Evesham Editorial 20th May, 2022   0

TWO local public transport groups have joined forces to organise an evening of rail nostalgia in the days of steam.

“Rail and Vale” is the theme of a film evening presented by rail archivist Michael Clemens of Pershore featuring local footage of stations and train services on current and former routes in the Vale of Evesham and the Cotswolds – many of which were lost in the notorious Beeching era.

Arranged by the Cotswold Line Promotion and Vale Public Transport Groups, the evening at Pershore Library next Friday (May 27 at 7.45 p.m. will also feature a short cameo archive of local Pershore events in the mid 1960’s .

Admission on the door is £5

An exhibition of black and white steam era and more modern pictures of Vale stations on the Cotswold route is currently being held at the library’s art gallery

The exhibition is open during normal library opening hours and admission is free.
