EODS ready to light up stage...

Evesham Editorial 10th Oct, 2021   0

AFTER 18 months of the dark theatres and the curtains being closed, Evesham Opearatic and Dramatic Society (EODS) will make a triumphant return to the town.

EODs will take audiences on an exploration of musical theatre history in their latest production, Recast, in support of The Acquired Brain Injury Trust.

They visit the hit musicals of Rodgers and Hammerstein, Sound of Music, Carousel, Oklahoma and The King and I, as well as some of their lesser known musicals including State Fair. They journey from the 18th Century with Les Miserable to the 1960s based hit Hairspray and pay their respects to the tragic events of 2001 with Come from Away.

EODS revisits Dolly Parton’s hit musical 9 to 5 but instead of fighting the big man upstairs, they’re fighting the big man behind the camera as they battle through the pandemic and working from home.

They’re not just looking back though; they’re so excited being back on stage that they are previewing their 2022 musical taking you on a journey Into the Woods.

The performances will be accompanied by a fourteen piece live orchestra, directed by Mark Aitchison. The songs may not be as expected as they Recast the roles to the folk who just love to perform them.

Recast runs from November 11 to 13 at 7.30pm at The Henrician Theatre.

Tickets are £14 (£12 concessions) and are available at www.henrician.org
