AN EVESHAM businessman has been named the town’s entrepreneur of the year at a recent regional awards night.
Tom Tarver, owner and managing director of Vale of Evesham based Johnsons Property Consultants, was bestowed the accolade at this year’s Love Evesham Awards.
Tom’s remarkable career began humbly at Johnsons, where he started as a seventeen-year-old apprentice and ‘Saturday boy’ back in 2004.
Over the years, he not only learned the ins and outs of the business but later acquired it, transforming the agency into one of the Vale of Evesham’s leading independent property specialists.
Since taking ownership, he has built Johnsons into a client-focused, trusted name for property services across the region.
Tom then relocated the business to larger and more prominent premises in the town centre in 2023. After managing the refurbishment of 91 High Street, his efforts attracted acclaim from the Vale of Evesham Civic Society, which commended him for the project’s sensitivity to the historical character of the conservation area.
“Relocating to our new home was one of my proudest achievements,” said Tom. “This move has helped to future-proof our growing business and allows us to better serve the community we care so much about.”
Beyond his work with Johnsons Property Consultants, Tom is a steadfast advocate for the broader development of Evesham.
As the chair of the Evesham Place Board, in partnership with Wychavon District Council, he plays a key role in fostering economic development initiatives aligned with the town’s twenty-year vision.
The Love Evesham Awards honours local businesses, community organisations and individuals who demonstrate a positive community impact.
In his acceptance speech, Tom thanked those who’ve supported him and expressed his pride in the community and the many people in Evesham who also deserve recognition.
He added: “Evesham is a town full of doers… people who work hard to make their businesses, charities and community groups better every single day.”
