VISITORS to the annual Friends lecture in Pershore Abbey have been invited to enjoy the sounds of the huge new pipe organ, recently installed high in the Abbey triforium.
If testing by the Italian manufacturers is finished by then, Abbey organist John Wilderspin will briefly entertain this major gathering next Friday (May 19).
Celebrated TV historian Robert Lacey, author of Royal biographies, is booked to speak about the new King Charles, asking “Does Britain need another monarch?”
One of the organisers, Michael Hodges from Friends of Pershore Abbey, said: “The massive new organ and a top TV specialist will make this an evening to remember.”
All funds raised will help to keep the town’s ancient Abbey in good repair.
Tickets are still available, on sale from Blue in Broad St and The Gallery, 51 High St, or the website, Eventbrite.
