AN EVESHAM commercial manager has completed a whirlwind first year in the job by capturing a top national award.
Emily Burton joined the team at The Valley last July at the height of the pandemic and marked the end of her first full year at the Evesham landmark by being named Young Achiever of The Year Award at the 2021 SCEPTRE Awards,
The 22-year-old was honoured during a glittering awards ceremony at the Royal Lancaster Hotel ib London Emily was one of seven finalists for the award, competing against illustrious shopping centres such as Cribbs Causeway in Bristol and Clarks Village.
Judges described Emily as a young, ambitious, tenacious individual who approaches her role with genuine care for her colleagues, tenants, stakeholders and shoppers, making her an outstanding individual with a bright future in the retail industry.
Phil Maclean, marketing director at The Valley, said: “Emily has been a positive force from day one and is thoroughly deserving of this award. She has played an integral role in our success, seeing footfall and shopper spend return and surpass pre-covid times.
