CREWS from Evesham were among those on the scene of a HGV which lost its load of potatoes on Fish Hill.
The incident took place at 11.40am this morning (Monday) when a lorry overturned and shed its load over the carriageway.
While the driver managed to climb out of the cab, an extensive fuel spill has seen the road closed for a number of hours.
A fire service spokesperson said: “Crews from Evesham Fire Station have assisted West Mercia Police to make the safe the scene of a RTC which involved an overturned HGV losing its load of potatoes.
“Driver had fortunately self extricated but extensive fuel spill on roadway will require clean up road closed for some time.”
