A GRIEVING Evesham father is hoping a night of musical melodies will continue the fund-raising in memory of his brave daughter who passed away following a battle with cancer.
Eddie Howell has taken on a skydive, abseiling and now a concert after his daughter Cherry Seekins, 56 died from cancer in December 2015.
The 82-year-old now hopes music lovers across Evesham and Pershore will join him at a concert entitled ‘Ahoy’, a musical based upon the raising of the Mary Rose and is being performed by The Hanley Voices, Prince Henry’s High School, The De Montfort High School and a group from the Cheltenham Youth Choir.
The concert takes place at Evesham Arts Centre on Sunday from 3pm.
Mr Howell said: “I was devastated to lose Cherry, my eldest daughter to cancer and 10 brain tumours. In 2017 I resolved to raise funds for Cancer Research UK and St Richards Hospice.
“I signed up to do a skydive in September of that year and raised in excess of £5,000. Currently my fund-raising is up to just less than £9,000 my aim is to break the £10,000 barrier.
Tickets are £11 and £8 for children and available online from Evesham Arts Centre or the Almonry on 01386 446944.
