OLYMPIC ski jumper Eddie the Eagle landed at Yates Court Care Home for a day of sporting triumph.

Eddie was the care home’s guest for the afternoon on Friday, April 22 as residents held their own Olympic Games in the pursuit for gold.

The Olympic legend’s visit was part of Extra Care Charitable Trust’s torch relay, which is being past from care home to care home, with each home being set the challenge of who can get the biggest celebrity to have their picture taken with the torch.

Bev Jones, Team Leader at Yates Court, said: “It was absolutely amazing.

“He was the best celebrity we could have had.

“He was so much fun and we were only meant to have him for an hour, and he stayed for two and half hours.”
