Rob George 31st Mar, 2018   0

THE COUNTDOWN to this year’s annual Pershore Carnival begins in earnest with the popular Duck Race and selection of this year’s Carnival King and Queen.

Both events will take place next Sunday, April 8, from 1pm at King George’s Field and also include an Easter Egg tombola and Easter Egg hunt and a bouncy castle.

Tickets at £2 each for the duck race are on sale now and available from The Star, The New Inn, TC Fireplaces, Lawrence’s Bakery and on the day.

Chairman of Pershore Carnival, Colin Shepherd said: “The duck race is one of our main fund-raising events and in previous years has always been very well supported. We are hoping that the local community will get behind us once again in our Goldern Jubilee year and join in the fun”

This year’s Carnival King and Queen will be chosen at the Riverside Centre from 2pm. Entrants must be nine to 12- years-old and available on Monday, May 28 and willing to take part in any publicity.
