Drop in at Tea for Tinnitus

IF YOU drop into Abbots Morton village hall this weekend you’ll be helping people who suffer from a constant ringing in their ears…

A drop-in event called Tea for Tinnitus is being held in the hall at Abbots Morton, near Inkberrow tomorrow (Saturday) to help raise money for the British Tinnitus Association, which funds research into the debilitating condition.

The BTA estimates that one in 10 people live permanently with tinnitus and one in three of the population are affected at some point in their lives.

The Tea for Tinnitus drop-in will run from 11am to 1pm. A variety of teas are top of the menu but there’ll also be coffee, cakes and a brunch of a bacon or Lashfords sausage sandwich. Entry is free.

Melanie Clarke, the Chair of Abbots Morton Village Hall Committee, said: “We have two Trustees who suffer from tinnitus. It can take different forms in different people. Some get ringing, others get buzzing, crackling, whooshing noises. It’s really awful for them.

“We just want to do something to help as well as having a convivial time with a tombola, a raffle and a cake sale. If you have tinnitus, come and share your experiences; if you don’t, please come along and learn more about it”.
