AN ELDERLY driver crashed into another vehicle and carried on her journey without stopping, a court has heard.
Zorka Stojsavljevic, of Joseph Creighton Close, Coventry, was driving on the A46 Evesham Road, about 10.30am on January 8 when she hit the wing mirror of a Nissan Note, forcing it up onto the grass verge.
Worcester Magistrates Court heard last Friday (May 16) the 73-year-old was travelling down to Bristol to assist one of her children,
The Nissan driver was heading towards Evesham when he noticed Stojsavljevic drifting across the carriageway and subsequently damaged the mirror beyond repair.
Another driver stopped and helped the victim, when police caught the defendant she said she couldn’t stop because of the traffic and wasn’t aware of the need to report it, the court heard.
Stojsavljevic was fined £200 after she pleaded guilty to failing to report the incident and £100 for driving without due care and attention.
Richard Hull, defending, said: “She is at a loss as to why this occurred but accepts it could only have been because she was paying insufficient attention.”
Stojsavljevic was also given six points on her licence and ordered to pay court costs of £85 and a £20 victim surcharge.
