HARD-WORKING volunteers and users of a much-loved Evesham day centre have been handed two welcome boosts in recent weeks.
Bosses at Freedom Day Centre dipped into their savings and purchase panasol louvres to allow users to enjoy the great outdoors and the recent sunshine safely.
The popular lifeline had now been handed a grant of £791 from customers and staff at Evesham’s Waitrose meaning the outlay can be recouped and returned to their piggy bank to ensure its services can continue.
Users and volunteers can now hit the road thanks to the purchase of a new Freedom Day Centre car thanks to a £10,000 grant from the National Lottery.
Their search for the right model to meet their needs moved into top gear when the centre was handed a further £6,600 from Growers United.
As a thank you, representatives from the National Lottery and from Growers United were invited to see how their money had been spent
Tracey Hemming, owner and founder of Freedom Day Centre said: “Thank you to Evesham Waitrose for putting us forward.
“We really can’t thank everyone for always supporting us it is and always will be appreciated.
“We get a lot of help and support from the local community so it’s nice they can see where their money has gone.
“Now on to raising £99,000 to get the floor done!,” she added.
