AN EVESHAM mental health support service has been able to buy three new computers thanks to a £2,000 donation from a group of Vale businesses.

Evesham and District Mental Health Support Services (EDMHSS), based in Church Street, is now able to offer their members new opportunities after receiving the donation from Growers United.

The group of horticultural and agricultural businesses recently held a charity golf day to raise thousands of pounds, not just for EDMHSS, but for a number of local charities.

The Evesham mental health support service has used the £2,000 to buy a new computer for the office to help with the running of the charity, and a desktop computer and laptop for the charity’s members to use.

Speaking to the Observer, Sally Earley, from EDMHSS, said: “I approached Bal at the beginning of the year and they obviously do a lot of fundraising throughout the year. They wanted to give us a grant for something specific and so we were able to buy new computers.

“We were able to buy one for the office where all the main work of the charity is done and also a new computer and laptop for the members to use.

“It has really opened up a lot of new opportunities for us. Our members can now create documents and we can do some computer tuition with them.”
