Dog owners urged to keep pets under control following Vale attacks

DOG owners are being warned by police to keep their pets under control at all times following a series of dog attacks in the Vale.

The warning was made after the owner of a Rhodesian Ridgeback in Ashton-Under-Hill was handed a Dog Control Order after a number of incidents where the dog, known as ‘kianga’, attacked other dogs.

PC Acaster, Safer Neighbourhood Team for Pershore Rural South & Rural North, said: “The order against the owner and Kianga is a clear reminder that police will take positive action to ensure that other local residents and their dogs are kept safe.

“We appreciate that recreational areas are a great place to exercise dogs, but we must urge owners to ensure that their dogs are kept under control.”
