A DOG owner in Offenham has been served with a court order following reports of their pet being loose in the area.

The Community Protection Notice (CPN) requires the owner to ensure their dog does not escape from their garden and it must be muzzled and on a suitable lead when in a public place or places accessible to the public.

A breach of the conditions of a CPN is a criminal offence which carries a fine of up to £2,500 for individuals and £20,000 for businesses.

The notice is issued under the Anit-Social Behaviour Crime and Policing Act 2014.

Evesham Rural North Policing Team have advised the public to report any incidents of loose dogs which cause the public to be in fear.

A spokesperson said: “Thank you for your help. It is only by the police and the public working together that we can prevent and detect crime.”
