Digging deep to aid Help for Heroes

VOLUNTEERS from Help for Heroes marked Armed Force Day with a collection a Tesco in Evesham which raised almost £600.

Volunteers Ian Baldry and Tony Potter were on hand at the Worcester Road store where customers kindly donated £586.44.

The event marked the first chance to fund-raise post lockdown for the charity which provides a range of physical and mental health assessments, treatment and support to veterans who have suffered a life changing injury or illness during or as a result of their service.

Mr Baldry said: “Following the lengthy lockdown it was great to get out again fund-raising in support of this fine charity.

“We are most grateful to the generosity of those customers who kindly made a donation. 97 per cent of funding for Help for Heroes comes from the public and their continued support is essential for the charity to provide the necessary ongoing care for our wounded veterans.”
