Dementia residents invited to service

Rob George 21st Jul, 2018   0

EVESHAM residents living with dementia are being invited to enjoy afternoon tea, friendly conversation with some reminiscences and a short service with well-known hymns and prayers.

The Tea Service takes place every Friday from 2pm to 3pm at All Saints Church and is run by the Evesham Dementia Action Alliance.

At the most recent event, 22 people enjoyed a Tea Service with a difference when they set sail upon the ‘Spirit of Freedom’ cruising as far as Chadbury lock while enjoying an interesting commentary and tea with cake and homemade scones.

“We travelled at a leisurely pace and there was plenty to see. It was glorious weather and the river was at its best with dragonflies and marsh marigolds as well as close up views of swans and ducks. It stimulated lots of conversations about past river adventures from childhood and some courting memories.” said organiser Rosie Grove.

The Tea Service is supported by Churches Together in Evesham and anyone who has been affected by dementia is welcome to attend.
