THE PICKING of Pershore’s Plum Princess will be held on ‘Plum Blossom Sunday’ – July 3 – organisers have revealed.

Applications are open to girls aged between eight and 11 years old but those who wish to be consider must let organisers know by Sunday (June 12).

The ceremony to crown the chosen princess and her attendants will take place as always at the Angel Hotel and her royal highness will represent Pershore and its plums at events such as the festival’s race meeting at Worcester racecourse, Bike Nite and the famous Bank Holiday weekend celebrations at the end of August.

Mascots Prunella and Eggbert will be on hand during a packed afternoon of events on Plum Blossom Sunday from midday.
