Evesham Operatic and Dramatic Society (EODS) has been crowned winner of a national theatre award.
The society took top billing last week when they won the National Operatic and Dramatic Association’s (NODA) award for Best Concert in District 5 of the West Midlands.
For the second year in a row, the society has scooped this award. This year they were crowned for their May 2023 production of Broadway and Beyond.
The production is professional actor and former society member, Daniel Callaghan’s directorial debut.
An EODS spokesperson said: “We are over the moon to announce Broadway and Beyond won our Noda award this weekend.
“We’d like to take this opportunity to Thank everyone involved in making this production a great success and to those who supported the show and the society by buying a ticket, being in our audience and helping future proofing our societies ability to entertain.”
Following their award win, the society are gearing up for their May 2024 show, Funny Girl.
This Broadway classic, made famous by the iconic Barbra Streisand film, aims to captivate audiences with its ‘timeless charm’ and ‘unforgettable’ melodies, including the beloved anthem, Don’t Rain on My Parade.
The Henrician, Evesham will host the production of Funny Girl from May 14 to 18.
