County parents can now apply for their children’s school placements

Evesham Editorial 4th Sep, 2023   0

PARENTS across the county can now apply for their youngster’s primary, middle or high school places in time for September 2024.

For children applying for a place at High school, the deadline to apply is October 31 2023, while for Primary, First, Infant, Junior and Middle schools, parents will have until 15 January 2024.

Guides on starting or transitioning to a new school will be available on the county council’s website.

Coun Tracey Onslow, cabinet member with responsibility for Education at Worcestershire County Council said: “Starting school and the move to the next stages of education are important and exciting steps in the lives of children and young people.

“We aim to make this change as smooth as possible. Every child that has applied for a place, on time, will receive an offer of a school place.

“Therefore, it is especially important that application deadlines are met, to maximise the potential of receiving an offer at one of your preferred schools for 2024.”

Parents and carers can apply for their child’s school place via a secure online portal any time before midnight on each deadline day.

Worcestershire Libraries offer free computer use and Wi-Fi for those without access.
